The Magic of Photoshop

Maybe she's born that way. Or maybe it's just photoshop.

Little do we know nearly every picture in every magazine and in every advertisement is touched by the "magical" photoshop tools. No. People do not really look like that in real life.

It is actually crazy how photoshop works. Seeing how a person is transformed into a whole new image and ultimately, a whole new person is both amazing and frightening at the same time.

Let's look at some of these transformations…

We can see how her whole appearance changes! First of all her lower back, arm and legs have been taken in and defined. Her face has been smoothed over and made wrinkle free, as well as some added cheek bones. They even went as far as giving her hair volume, since apparently getting her hair done for the shoot wasn't good enough.

Here we have the beautiful Britney Spears. Her skin wasn't flawless enough for this picture. All of the spots and even her tan was removed. Her fly away hair was tamed and even made blonder. The virtual mascara brush was taken to her eyes to make them fuller and darker.

What would you know, things aren't how they seem. These are just a handful of examples, but here are many more like this and there are showcased everywhere. There is no denying that we live in a world that is made over for perfection.

Welcome to The Perfect Ugly Truth!

Hello fellow readers and welcome to my blog!

If you are interested in fashion and the art of advertisement then you will want to keep reading!

In my blog I am going to talk about models used in advertisements and fashion magazines.  Advertisement agencies seem to believe that the have to show the ideal image of a woman.  And this doesn't only apply to women.  Has anyone seen Justin Bieber's new Calvin Klein underwear ad?  Models are photoshopped and transformed to perfection.

I think it is important to be aware of the drastic changes that are made to women all the time.  This sends a message that "real" women with natural beauty isn't good enough.  Images are put out into the public that are unattainable.  We are going to look at how photoshop changes these models into a new person.
